Then and Now: Episode Eight

Ever since Ces from Drink at Work posted three songs on his birthday, I have not been able to get this song out of my head. Or even my playlists. It's one of the rare songs from my past I had not heard on the radio in the last ten years. So it was a real trip back. Lucky for us, someone did a cover in 1996, allowing us to enjoy it twice today, on Then and Now. Plus, I gave Mr. Moon a list of songs and covers to chose from, and this is the one he picked. That is not to say I am not going to sting him with a cover from that blond pop princess he so fears, at a later date. [mostly because it sucks so hard and would make me laugh].

Punk girls rock my world :)

For whatever reason, I was picturing mopeds and a beach with this song as the background score.

mopeds on the beach? how peculiar. ;)

Just today I heard "Touch too much" by AC/DC, which reminded me of a speech I'd given in college. The speech had the students all but rolling on the floor. The teacher found it a bit offensive (and and older and wiser me agrees).

It may have been the Knack lyric I used, sung just before someone says "it hurts," or my follow-up comment that caused the teacher to cut me off before I finished.

As I took my seat a buddy whispered that I'd had a touch too much (which made perfect sense then, but loses something out of context.)

The Chubbies do a nice version.
