I just can't have nice things.
I broke my mac. Twice in the last couple of weeks, I've dropped it. Now it won't stay closed. Which means, I can't put it to sleep by closing the lid. It pops back up again. Pop.
Sigh. It's very sad. It still works tho, there is nothing wrong with it's insides. Only it's outsides. It's dented and beat up plenty. I'm hard on things, and I take it everywhere. I'm going to save up for a new mac, a mactel, most likely another laptop, but it's going to be a while before I can afford it. Christmas is coming up and I have to think about presents for other people first. Sigh.
Whatever you do, don't put something fragile in my hands.

Wonder if they'll make any super tough Macs like they have been laptop PCs. If so, we should probably sign you up for one.

One of the guys I work with ran over his notebook with a car. He must not have caught it fully with the tire as it still worked. Maybe he had one helluva computer bag.
The same guy kept a butter knife in his desk drawer. He used it to pry the CD door open when he needed to insert or remove a CD.

Ah, keeping crippled computers alive beyond their sell-by date with a mixture of black magic, duck tape and half-assed bodged repairs is all well and good - until the zombie e-book decides to eat seven chapters of your new story.
I speak from experience. :-(

I guess wrapping it in bubble wrap is out of the question.
