There is good reason to be frightened
There is a theory, held by many, that if you look to young, urban, Asian kids you will see what stores will be trying to sell you a year from now. And, if that is true, then we are screwed, fashionwise. Because I saw two young, urban, Asian girls wearing knickers on Saturday in downtown Vancouver. Why? WHY? No! I won't stand for it. It's ridiculous. I'm not going to wear knickers anymore than I am going to wear the high waisted pants that are, unfortunately, coming back into fashion. No freakin' way.
Don't be sheep. Don't wear knickers. Or high waisted pants. And just say no to pleats, while you are at it.

I need to tread carefully here, and might needs some translation...
By 'knickers' do you mean their underpants, that is what knickers are in the UK. Are you saying they were wearing their underpants on the outside, over their trousers, ala Superman and Wonder Woman? In which case, I just can't believe that River Selkie would not be totally up for it!
By high waisted pants, do you mean trousers or underpants? In the case of the former, I say wha-hoo! Bring back 1975! If you mean the later, then I totally agree unless you are a geriatric.
By pleats, do you mean on skirts, like rah-rah skirts? In which case, I am in favour as Long as they are Short. But I don't think you wear skirts Jodi, I am sure I read that on here somewhere. Or do you mean those little gathers (darts?) on the front of trousers? Which again, I am in favour of as it makes me look slimmer.

Oh yeah, those. I don't think you have too much to worry about. They've been in fashion mags for awhile. Very Camilla Parker-Bowles.

Ok, I'll admit that I hate those low rise pants - and I'm talking about the one's so low that your butt crack hangs out. I'm not terribly enthusiastic over high-waisted pants, either, although I can live with them, if they're baggy enough that I can pull them down, some. Why, oh, why, can't they make nice, comfortable, pants that fall somewhere in the middle? Oh yeah, they do, lounge and yoga pants. Guess my wardrobe ain't gonna be changing much! =)
Knickers? Like I wore in the 6th grade? ICK! No. I bet Veronica's gonna want them, though. *sigh*
As for pleats, Perry's right, you do need to be more specific. You know, as well as I, that a pleated school girl skirt is one of the cutest things on earth. If you're talking about pleated pants, however - ew. Let the men keep 'em!

Im speechless. I went shopping for clothes the other day and stumbled upon "knickers". I had to ask the person I was with, if what I was seeing was really what I thought it was. Like what's up with that sh*t.(excuse the language)I wouldn't be caught dead in those things. So I'd be giving the knickers the kickers....RIGHT OUT THE DOOR.

I got confused with the whole 'knickers' thing as well. Knickers mean panties here in the UK.
Knickers is also the ONLY word guaranteed to make British people snigger.
