My NaNoWriMo project is going poorly. I’ve started and quit about three stories so far. I’ve got about 3700 words of crap. Give or take. But I am completely uninspired. Which lead to some random, free form typing. Which is how we got the story of Princess Pancake. In which our heroine goes off in search of a lost library book, her real parents, and breakfast. Princess Gwendolyn, who is told, by her evil eldest brother Prince Assclown, that she is adopted, and not a real princess. The whole thing is fairly surreal, because I was having such a hard time sticking to any one story. I just thought that if I let Princess Gwendolyn do whatever she wanted, I could probably make 50 thousand words. I don’t want to fail, just because I seem I can’t stick to my original idea. Which was a mystery, and something I still want to work on. Especially since I’ve learned so much about poisons. (Although, I had to quit reading about all the evil snake bites, because they were freaking me out. I’m not afraid of snakes, but if I kept reading that section, I’d probably never leave the house. Certainly never go to Africa or the Amazon. eeek.) However, poisons are pretty cool. And just so you know, everything is poisonous. Everything. So don’t eat anything, touch anything, breath in anything, or drink anything. Or let anything bite you, for god’s sake!
My word count is 4,000. I’m woefully behind. I should have at least three times that.
where is that quote from cause it is tres amusing! i am wondering if i should know it myself, but nothing springs to mind.
my thoughts about your story is that you need dream inspiration. try thinking about it before you go to bed, set your alarm to wake you up in the middle of a dream and maybe you’ll have some inspiration. dreams help me often with story ideas.
also, question, is satan’s book club going to just list satanic books with reviews, or is it going to be a “read this book this month” thing and where we’ll discuss it after. cause i’ve been thinking about joining a book club and that would be the one to join for my first choice.
the quote is from aqua teen hunger force.
i think that it’s going to be a bit of both. we are going to chose a book to read, and then someone will write a review, to indicate how godless it is, what level of risk your enternal soul might face. and then we can discuss it via comments. but we’ll tell you the book ahead of time. and if you want to be a minion, and write a review sometime, that’ll be bitchen as well!
i imagine there will be some books we just review, because we read ’em recently. but any book is always open to discussion. perhaps, in the future, we’ll set up a message board for the discussion part. ooooo… ambitious!
the new story idea sounds awesome. especially the part with Prince Assclown (the name makes me giggle so). and since you know so much about poisons, maybe princess gwendolyn meets a friend who’s an expert on poisons. maybe someone who likes to poison people for fun. 🙂
Ireland is the place for you: No snakes poisonous or otherwise!
I’d stay away from Australia though… ( of the 10 most venomous snakes live there, one so prevalent, he’s called “the common brown” or “brownie” affectionately… FREAKING AFFECTIONATELY!! Had I a snake of that sort in my state, let alone town, I’d be on a snake hunt my entire life!
actually, i think the princess should be the one poisoning people.
and your satan’s bookclub ideas sound good! i would love to contribute some reviews and to the discussion too, of course. can’t wait!
