Fee is coming to visit me tomorrow, from Pasadena. We have a self imposed three day weekend of fun coming up. Not entirely sure which specific items of fun we are going to cover, from our list, except for one. Fee is a foodie and there will be Ba Me for lunch on Friday. A dish so beloved by those who visit me here, that we have a picture of it.
Those are Fee’s actual fingers holding a bowl of Ba Me, the last time she had some. Coming in a very close second is the Lime Leaf Thai Fajita Dish with the Little Bowls of Stuff. I don’t remember the real name. We also have a picture of that.

The only reason I needed to show you pictures of food? Because I’m supposed to be cleaning house for her visit. Feh. This was more important.
That looks so much better than the hack of Chinese I attempted to make tonight. Should always let the professionals work their magic.
oh ba me is delicious. it’s like soup without all the oop. fresh egg noodles, garlic, peanuts, green onion, cilantro, spinach and sprouts. and, in my case, chicken. and i swear, if you are feeling sickly, ba me will make you feel better.
the other dish is an appetizer. you fill little leaves with garlic, peanuts, toasted coconut, lime juice.. and some kind of plum sauce that makes it special. like little fajitas.
fremont has thai restaurants like nobody’s business. it’s just, you know, too bad if you want a cheeseburger in that neighborhood or anything.

you know what, though? i actually like mieng kham better than ba me. that is one of the perfect foods. in either case, or both cases as the case will be, I AM SO EXCITED!
