50 Word Fiction Fridays Vol. 28

Today’s theme is weddings. Maybe we’ve done weddings as a theme before, I can’t remember. But since my cousin Kirsten is getting married today, it’s going to be weddings again! Ok, you can do weddings, or Yom Kippur. It’s your choice.

Pileup in Taffeta

It was a massive collision. Bodies were tangled together and the cries of the hurt and humiliated were heard by all. She stopped and looked at the chaos, a pile of fallen maids.

“Ok, maybe I could have picked a more sensible shoe for the bridesmaids.” She whispered to her father.

  1. As two of the rival chef’s lackeys collided, the hedonisticly delicious chocolate of the Desert Chef was sent flying into the rich, almost gritty, peanut butter the of Chief Sous Chef. After some heated exchange, the Master Chef realized what a divine marriage of flavors they had inadvertantly stumbled upon.

  2. “Let us out!” my brother yelled from the closet.
    “Not until you kiss her!” my friend replied.
    “Ewwwwww!” her sister shrieked.
    Fifteen minutes and one kiss later they were freed. We threw construction paper confetti and congratulated them on their new marriage. There’d never been such clever kindergartener match makers.

  3. “So?”
    “Let’s have another drink.”
    An hour later …
    “Sooo, how bout’ now?”
    “Umm, I can’t feel my lips … leths hava nuther.”
    An hour later …
    “Wida ya say we do this?”
    “Gawd ur so cuuuute … what stays in Vegas happens in Vegas right?”
    The next day …
    “Uh, who are you again?”

  4. The tears started immediately, as soon as the first of the bridal party had set a foot down the aisle. She had wondered how soon they would come. A handkerchief was near at hand. As she reached her groom, she smiled, gave him a kiss, and wiped away his tears.
