Today is a test

Just when I was getting ready to be all grateful and positive and shit, someone broke into my car and stole my iPod. And Wil’s phone. I know… I know, I never should have left it down there. Normally I do not. They were not in sight, at least.
Sadly, neither one of them are covered by my auto insurance. The window is, but I will have to try to convince them they need to just reimburse me, rather than try to send one of their guys out. Since I am in Canada and all. The paint damage will have to wait until I can go back down to the states.
So, how to be grateful and positve about this? Well, I have a car in the first place. A really great car that runs top notch, has a sun roof, and is completely paid for. I’m so grateful for that. And I have the cash to pay for the window. So that’s nice. And on the positve side, Wil hated his phone, but we had no practical reason to replace it. Now we do. And I hated that window, it was always smudgy. It had fingerprints and a bad attitude.
Guh. I’m trying here.

  1. When I was transitioning from living in VT to living in NYC by temporarily living in my boyfriend’s parents’ basement someone smashed my driver’s side window and stole … my prescription sunglasses.
    Yay them. Enjoy the blindness.
    Welcome to NYC, Popstar.
    I understand what you’re saying.

  2. My car was stolen and recovered some time ago. Among the things stolen out of it: A partially used bottle of tanning lotion meant for tanning bed use, a free with purchase umbrella, and a Beanie Baby. They also attempted to steal my stock Honda stereo?? I’m sorry your iPod is gone. That sucks.

  3. That SUCKS! I really hated that window too. Two years ago, now, my truck got broken into and the stereo stolen. I was so mad, that’s the second car stereo I’ve had stolen. It was enough to make me never want to have anything nice ever again. I still haven’t replaced the radio. There’s a beautiful gaping hole in the dash.
And to top it off, the bastards (can I say “bastard” on your blog?) took my Lucky perfume too. How do you explain that? Present for the the thief’s girlfriend? Weird. “I got this for you, baby.” “A half-empty bottle of perfume? Why half-empty?”
The good news is that the Ipod’s have gone down in price, right? The one I paid $300 is now $200.
