I’d say my NaNoWriMo word count is about… oh, 200? I have to admit, I did not work on it much last night. I’ve got this thing I have to write for work. It’s not technical documentation, but rather a little script for a little movie we are making. It’s a long story. Suffice to say, I am not used to being creative and funny on demand. I need to have something drafted by Friday morning, and since I have not had time to work on it during the day, I was researching last night. It’s not an unpleasant task, I just feel that I have to get this out of the way, and then I will be able to concentrate on my Nano project.
I also found many other means of procrastinating last night. Usually, I don’t procrastinate that hard until the 2nd week. I actually watched the movie Daredevil. Guh.
When I finish the script [I’ve never written a script before. Are they expecting it in script form? With, like … stuff about what people are to be doing, as well as saying?] I will have to give you guys the links to the online films I was watching to research dialog. They are pretty funny. Unfortunately, I do not believe I will be able to show you the little film after it is made, as it’s work stuff, and Top Secret work stuff at that.
I leave you with a hilarious link, instructions on becoming a Republican. Sorry to all my Republican readers, no offense intended. Although, it is pretty insulting to you guys, major generalizations and all that. But, hey.. love me, love my liberal outlook.
Short time lurker, first time poster here . . .
I only did about 300 words for NaNoWriMo yesterday. However, I wrote about 900 words on my blog. What is wrong with this picture? I’m almost tempted to just throw my daily blog writings into my story and just figure out a way to tie them together . . . but that would be cheating, wouldn’t it?
200 words is better than no words. The other people in my local forum, they’ve written like 5000 words, 7658 words. I’m just thinking, what the fuck? Don’t you people have jobs? kids? spouses? SOMETHING? Anyhow, I wrote all that to say this: HA HA! I am beating you by 2500 words!
Random Kath, I know exactly what you are talking about. The urge to blog becomes even stronger during NaNo. Hey, maybe your character could have some remarkably similar experiences… like, exactly the same, as you.
Xtine, those are fighting words. And when my BRILLIANT script is complete, I will catch up and beyond!
At least you are writing and that is a very good thing!
Socialism is wrong: It’s proven to fail because it demands that people have no desire to have more than the next guy. Work harder and you DESERVE more. Socialism says that’s bad.
Fascism is wrong: It’s proven to fail because the “little people” never get a chance to advance, and there’s a lot more of them than the rich. Fascism says suppressing people is ok.
This country is supposed to be Republic ruled by Democracy. People can get rich, but the little people can advance so they can get rich too.
And newsflash: This country was founded by Judeo/Christian beliefs.
Attack the foundation of a building, and see it fall. Attack the foundation of a country and it will fall too. This country’s foundation has been mortally wounded by the diametric viewpoints of the Democratic Socialist Party and the Republican Fascist Party.
Another newsflash: This country has 20, maybe 30 years left. After that, it will splinter into various regional groups, all weaker than they were before, which will fall one by one into the hands of extremists. They won’t invade, they’ll merely cave in the skull of Lady Liberty. Eventually both sides will start a war that kills 40-50% of the remaining populace until their leaders are assasinated by their own, more moderate, inner circle. Nothing less will prove that shoving your ideas down someone elses throat is a very, very bad thing.
All because people thought that Socialism and Fascism were more noble than the Republic.
You aren’t going to go all Jack Torrence (a la The Shining) on us are you? We’re not going to read it and freak out because all it says is All Writing And No Movie Watching Makes Jodi A Dull, Yet Insanely Cool and Liberal Girl, will it?
Sorry for my outburst. I’m just tired of politics on both wrong sides.
I’m up to about 300 words so far.
i’m still at zero. *sigh*
